136 people including 47 children died in continuous rain in Pakistan


 ISLAMABAD, Aug 1 – Floods caused by heavy rains in Pakistan's Balochistan have killed 136 people. This information was found in the report of Geo News.

According to the report, 47 of those who died in the flood were children. Rescue operations are continuing. The death toll is expected to rise. The government has promised to 'not leave' the people.

Members of the local administration and armed forces are carrying out rescue operations in the province. But rescue operations are being hampered as floods inundate vast areas.

According to the latest figures provided by the Balochistan Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), 56 men, 47 children and 33 women are among the 136 people who died in the floods. Another 70 people were injured in the flood.

According to the PDMA report, 13,535 houses were damaged by the rains. Out of this, 3 thousand 406 houses were completely destroyed. 16 bridges and 640 km of roads have been damaged due to torrential rains.

More than 20,000 cattle died in flash floods. Eight dams were damaged. Crops of 1 lakh 98 thousand acres of land have been destroyed.

Balochistan government spokesperson Farah Azim Shah told Geo News that the storm has also hit the United States. This province is no exception. The rescue operation will take time.

This spokesperson said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif visited Balochistan. The authorities want to deliver relief to the people. The provincial government is in touch with Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa for this.

Farah Azim said that the government has taken a long-term plan to deal with the rains in the coming months. He said, we are relying on private organizations and will not leave the people.
